The story & symbolism
The full viking chess set with two sides of pieces made from plant-based resin and then finished with a bronze or silver color. Both sides of the pieces come in small cotton pouches and the large chessboard comes in a large pouch from either cotton or faux-fur. The chessboard itself is made of Estonian oak and the details are burned into the board, so it wont fade. You can click on the sets of the gods below to learn about each individual piece!

Runes as board lettering
I've used runes as the letters on the board, following the FUTHARK sequence here instead of an ABC alphabet order - a great way to memorize the starting sequence of runes or the first aett, as an aett consists of 8 runes and the Elder Futhark consists of 3 aetts.
Numbers in runes
Since in runes numbers don't have runic symbols to them I've created my own logic based on a human hand, similarly how we have the 10 set numbering system. The symbol grows as two palms of fingers - with 5 being marked with a downward stroke and symbolizing a thumb, making it easier to see 5 and 10.

How to measure
Items are measured by being laid flat on the ground, not by circumference. If you have any items that fit you well, lay them on the ground and measure them to get the best fit

The linen case is a cotton blend actually with a linen look, its soft to the touch and free of charge. If you'd want a fancier look the fur one is an upgrade you can get, it's made of faux-fur. Both of these are hand-made in Estonia.
