The story & symbolism
Muninn plucking a feather which does not belong there anymore
This is a metaphor for getting rid of people and things in your life that do not belong there anymore, even with the bad feather plucked out - the raven can continue it's flight, and so can you. Muninn in Norse mythology represents the mind or memory, so cleansing your mind of negative things helps you further
But I want to talk about where I got the idea for this piece, I was doing my annual scroll on facebook and decided to look at these pagan and norse groups there cause I thought hehe maybe i see some funny "myyy mother tolddd mee" posts and so… well 5 posts in and 3 of the posts I saw were people from the United States concerned that their family doesnt talk to them anymore cause they are "pagan". One particular person was even having a child and their own parents and grandparents were more concerned with what their child decides to believe in or draw inspiration and strength from 🤨 I'm a parent myself to many kids and I cant ever imagine judging my own children on who they decide to love, what music they like, what they believe in, etc - as long as they are not harming themselves or others, why would you be judgmental towards anyone. It seems to me also that there is a huge difference between christianity in northern europe and the states, here it's a very personal matter what you believe in and what things you attend. I would never judge someone going to the church, as would no one judge me going to a hiis, and I'm from Estonia, we had several crusades done to us so we would stop being pagan, it never worked so they kept trying lol, still I would never look down on someone choosing christianity as their religion of choice. I actually feel very sorry for you guys anywhere that has this kind of brainwashing going on…
But if this reaches anyone in a situation like this, I want you to know that this raven has many feathers, which represent the people that are with you - no matter what you decide to believe in, whatever you look like, how ever you like to dress, what ever shape, color or i dont know what else you are - there are many of us here with you
