The story & symbolism
This item is in the Erilaz category. The word inscribed in many rune engravings. Likely a title of the carver, the meaning is associated with the word earl as well as ale, which makes sense since ale was considered sacred by many people along with slavic, germanic and old norse cultures, take for example the mead of poetry. The word was written along with other symbols or writings, assigning the knowledge and right to carve runes to the author. These hoodies, shirts, sweatshirts and other apparel items are inspired by the Viking age runestones and the superstitious past of our ancestors. The designs in Erilaz feature runes, petroglyphs, magical symbols and sacred geometry so you could wear your path to knowledge and spirituality.

This design features a Vegvisir on the back with an overall knitted look to them thats inspired by Kynö folk patterns. The details also bear other symbols from various northern cultures as well as an auseklis and a mandatory Othala rune for heritage and protection against evil spirits from ones home. In case you don't know the Vegvisir is a symbol found in numerous Icelandic grimoires and currently the earliest occurance of this symbol is from the Huld manuscript thats dated to the 19th century. It's described to guide people on stormy seas to their home, it's often nowadays associated as a guidance symbol and often called a compass as well although this is not what it was inspired by likely, rather it's based on Solomons sigils that possibly traveled to Iceland from England.

History & Myhtology inspired apparel, jewelry and artwork.
