The two sides of the god of all gods but also the two sides within all of us. On the right is Odins warlike nature, a shieldwall with spears sticking out at the top, the valsgärde style helmet with plates depicting the svinfylking, the ulfhednar and Odin and his spear dancers themselves. The armies sent forth on their way to Valhalla on his right horn of the headdress which itself depicts one of his ravens, Huginn. The eyeguard is a horse since when humans first domesticated the horse it has accompanied us in warfare, same is with the ship above it, which is in the style of a bronzeage petroglyph depiction of a vessel with people on it. And the whole face is a worn down tree, as the tale of conflict is as old as time, as old as the world tree is at its deepest core with the bark of the tree ancient and rough like time itself
On the left is the neverending quest of Odin for more knowledge and to see the future. This side features the Yggdrasil on the top from the Överhogdal tapestry. His missing eye here is in the shape of a well from top down, as in the well of Mimir is where he leaves his eye for wisdom. From that same eye runs a tear, which the eye represents the well and the tear represents him hanging from the world tree as he gave himself to himself to learn the runes and then teach them to humans, giving us the ability to write, to create magic and to help us. This side has the eyeguard as a raven, an intelligent and cunning bird and his horn is the raven that belongs to him known as Muninn
The design speaks on the character of Odin, he has two ravens representstive of thought and memory, his wolves Geri and Freki mean hunger and thirst, these are symbolic of his approach to everything, conducting warfare with enthusiasm and passion as well as his hunger for more knowledge. And it is the same in ours, the two sides constantly in conflict with eachother and it is for us to control which side overrules which. Do we let conflict take over our senses or do we ground ourselves and take a more diplomatic approach. Neither is wrong, but will determine how you are perceived. And to live forever is to be remebered
