The story & symbolism
As you might know, the god Baldr was immune to everything besides the mistletoe. He gained this immunity after his father, Odin, learned that Ragnarok would be brought forward with the fall of Baldr. Because of this his mother, Frigg, went and asked everything to cause no harm to their son. But the mistletoe was not made to grant this promise as it was seen too fragile. The gods would constantly throw things as Baldr, try to hit him with arrows, swords, spears and axes, but everything reflected off of him without any harm. After Loki learned of the mistletoe he decided to test it, having Baldrs brother Hodr who was blind shoot a mistletoe arrow at Baldr
And as everyone laughed and watched this event take place, they were surprised to see Baldr pierced by the mistletoe. I've depicted here this event, with the blood flying from him as the mistletoe berries and him being on his horse that is decorated with petroglyphs, symbolizing the start of his travel towards Helheim. I've also added a buncha cupmarks cause I like them and they look aesthetic but also in my hometown there is a stone called Baldrs Stone that contains many deep and ancient cupmarks
The whole design is decorated with sun symbols as Baldr is told to have been the brightest, palest and shiniest of the gods. This is also symbolism of Baldr taking the light with him to the underworld, signaling the start of the great end known as Ragnarok
