The story & symbolism
This is modern runestone kinda design documenting the life of a viking, ill likely do other roles as well
It starts from the bottom with a longhouse, fields with a rainy day to symbolize a fertile earth and triangles that depict mountains. This is the start of life and the fields are a reference to the agricultural part of life during that time. It was inspired by the runepoem part about mannaz where it reads “man is the augmentation of dust” but here ive replaces dust with soil
Im the middle he is seen fighting wolves which are a way of depicting his enemies on raids and metaphorically the struggles in life. The rune parts read that the stone was raised and dedicated to Olaf, which is inspired by a mini runestone that @mooselady_p sent me of Olaf who fell in Eastland (still unsure if it was a gift or a threat after all these years 👀)
Finally his story ends and there can be seen Odin and ravens as he fell in battle. The stars with spirals ontop of them symbolize valkyries coming to decide over his fate. Behind Odins missing eye is a sun symbol as a reference to knowledge and an othala rune can be seen as he has left behind a legacy and heritage. From there on it becomes a dark void on his part but the whole story before it can still be seen. So this is a reference to the overquoted part of Havamal which reads that everything dies but “a mans deeds never die”

Items are measured by being laid flat on the ground, not by circumference. If you have any items that fit you well, lay them on the ground and measure them to get the best fit
