The story & symbolism
Jörd is a goddess who personifies the earth and fertile soil. She is the mother of Thor and goes by another name Fjörgyn. Turn to Jörd when seeking guidance related to nature, growth and renewal. To your home she brings grounding energy and a nurturing presence, helpful for those who wish to reconnect with their roots and find a balance. She is also great at strengthening your garden, flowers, plants and so, specifically the soil - so when you want to boost the growth of plants around where you are she can help you with that.
HEAD DETAILS
Her face features two lines to symbolize water/rain and three cup marks on each side because cup marked stones are often found near old fields. So this is a reference for a fertile ground.
CHEST DETAILS
She is seen holding a suncross as a reference to her goddess status and sunlight which is needed for plants to grow. Her dress below the sun is striped as again a reference to rain. Like the Odin statue she is seen holding her arms on the stomach as a sign of confidence and certainity.
BRAID DETAILS
Her hair symbolizes vast crop fields, as she is the goddess of earth and soil
BACK DETAILS
The braids are tied and bloom into crops, this is to symbolise that soil is what grows us our crops. Her whole back is filled with fertile crops.
