The story & symbolism
On this piece I've depicted a shaman guiding in the new sun ready to grow leaves that will bloom like the sun rays. In the branches you can also find little petroglyph women from a carving in Tanum, where two women are seen holding onto or spinning a huge cupmark which has birds attached to it, here I've depicted them carrying in the sun
Her attire is inspired by many archaeological finds and mythological items. She is wearing attire inspired by the Egtved Girl and a shaman found in Dürrenberg. I've extended the lower part of her attire though and on there is artwork from a picture stone from Gotland, where a woman is sitting and holding two snakes. On her legs and headdress are painted spirals from these same picture stones. On her neck she wears the mythological necklace of the goddess Freya, known as Brisigaman which was forged to her by the dwarves. Similar necklaces have also been found in real life, for example the Ållebergs Kragen, which is a golden torc like necklace from the migration era.
