This item is in the Erilaz category. The word inscribed in many rune engravings. Likely a title of the carver, the meaning is associated with the word earl as well as ale, which makes sense since ale was considered sacred by many people along with slavic, germanic and old norse cultures, take for example the mead of poetry. The word was written along with other symbols or writings, assigning the knowledge and right to carve runes to the author.
