The story & symbolism
The god of the sword, war, honor and justice, amongst many other things of course but this is the theme here. The beard is made of swords for his connection to the swords and oaths sworn on the tip of the swords
The number two is prevalent throughout this piece with the moustache piece consisting of two drinking horns, the noseguard bears a double stacked Tiwaz rune with two eagles at the top and on the forehead is a shining sun and a silent sun, the symbolism behind this is the sacrifice to Fenrir in which Tyr lost his hand, the association with the sun is in relation to the Cherusci tribe worshipping him as the sun god. And as earth has one sun opposed to the more popular two so has Tyr one hand out of two, a reminder of this tale
The eyeguards feature Tyr runes as well as the previously mentioned noseguard. The two eagles behind him are in association to the "spread-eagle" or "blood-eagle" to symbolize sacrifices to Tyr being made in this way, with the open rib cages showing behind the helm as well
And the Irminsul figure decorates the nose as well as a neck guard behind him with three spears above his head again for the association to war
