The story & symbolism
My interpretation of Hel, with the most significant characteristic of her contrasting features depicted here on his face
Her headdress features a petroglyph ship with nine sailors that also reflects on the top of the headdress, this is a reflection to a ship sailing under water - sailing in the underworld
She is surrounded by runes that are for protection and help, with her hair symbolizing a gate opening. It welcomes new comers. And at the top are nine spears as a reference to the 9th year Uppsala temple tradition, now even though the temple held statues of Odin, Freyr and Thor, I’ve used it here as a symbol for sacrifice. I do believe that during the 9th year those 3 gods were the main deities they sacrifices to, but i also believe Hel was sacrificed to, either in bogs or other bodies of water. And i havent made my mind up yet if they would sacrifice people to Hel or not, but I’m sure they would reach out to Hel when someone close to them has left - and I base this on Egils saga where he very likely speaks to Hel through a kenning after the loss of his son

Items are measured by being laid flat on the ground, not by circumference. If you have any items that fit you well, lay them on the ground and measure them to get the best fit
