The story & symbolism
Mani is the personification of the moon from Norse Mythology. There are so many references to him, both directly and from what we know of the ancient people and the importance of the moon in their lives. The name "month" comes from the moon, as a month is based on the lunar cycles and our ancestors based a lot of their everyday life around the moon. A new day would begin when the moon rises during the night. Mani is also said have a horse pulling his chariot that he sits in with two companions Hjuki and Bil. These two companions are likely the explanation of the dark spots on the moon for the Vikings. The chariot is also chased by a wolf, we do not know if it is Hati or Sköll chasing him, but one of them chases the moon and the other the sun.
Mani can help you as a companion in planning, tactics and enlightement in dark situations, just like the moon lights up the darkness of the night. Turn to him when you need help sorting things into order and when you need an extra hand on making a decision. To your home he brings a very calm and ambient energy. His presence helps with sleep, keeping calm and taking things slow but decisively.

HEAD
I've depicted him with four moon phases. In front of us we see the full moon, to the sides the waning and waxing crescents and on the back is the new moon - which is resembled by the hood fully covered.

LOGS
He is seen carrying logs, this is reference to the many myths from northern Europe that on the moon there are people carrying wooden logs. His attire underneath the carrying hands is inspired by the moons surface.

THE NIGHT SKY
His back represents the beautiful night sky with stars. The cowl on top represents the northern lights (aurora borealis).
