The protector of women, childbirth and the one in charge of weaving and fate in the Slavic pantheon. She was the only female goddess whose idol stood in the pagan Kyiv temple. The earliest written source of her belongs around the years 800-1100 in the Primary Chronicle also known as the Tale of Bygone Years that was composed in Kyiv.
